Mel Willard, a qualified Sports Therapist from The Massage Lab Sussex will be at the event offering pre- and post-massage to optimise performance and minimise the risk of injuries. Donations for massage gratefully received in aid of Cancer Research.

Mel can offer:-
Pre-event massage – can maximize event performance and is often incorporated into a pre-race warm-up routine, followed by stretching. This invigorating massage stimulates the body and mind, increasing blood flow, joint mobility, and flexibility. By boosting muscle temperature and circulation, it enhances performance while reducing injury risk, and improving joint mobility ensures greater flexibility for optimal movement during the event.
Stretching & Aftercare advice – Sometimes with various injuries or niggles, the body needs stretches to be adapted, Mel can show you how to best do this, including the use of equipment such as bands, cushions, and everyday items to support.
Post-Event Massage – This is a slower and more relaxing massage. Post-event sports massage aids muscle recovery by reducing tension, soreness, and stiffness. It removes lactic acid thereby promoting faster healing, helping to reduce the day-after hobbles!
